ADVERTISEMENT Some Indonesian communities encourage parents to cut parts of a newborn daughter's clitoris although the country's Islamic groups are in dispute over such non-therapeutic practices. Sri Hermiyanti, who heads the ministry's family health directorate, said symbolic female circumcisions that do not involve physical damaging of the child still could be carried out. "Hurting, damaging, incising, cutting the clitoris are not allowed. These acts violate the reproductive rights of these girls and harm their organs," said the doctor, adding the announcement has been circulated to health workers since April.

Removing the clitoris would prevent the female from ever being able to achieve clitoral orgasm, bit like cutting of a mans penis. Women do however have other means of achieving orgasm, both vaginal and Gspot, these are a lot more elusive for most women though, some never have anything other than clitoral. Female cirucsicion is cruel and masochistic and should be outlawed worldwide, it serves no purpose other than to deny a women sexual pleasure

Any genital cutting or slicing should be illegal male or female(Except for religious reasons). It is just as bad to circumcise a boy as it is a girl because they serve the same purpose. Nothing. Around the world, people think that it is disgusting when they hear about an uncircumcised male but jump to ban female circumcisions.

The woman loses the ability to achieve orgasm. Some women can achieve orgasm through penetration alone but it is not common. A lot of times, when this has been performed, it is not in a sterile environment which puts the woman at great risk of infection. These infections have been known to be so bad at times that women's entire wombs have basically collapsed and had it not been for foreign aide doctors checking these women, many may have died so I am sure that many do. Infections can cause all sorts of complications are painful and can make a woman extremely sick.

female circumsion is worse than male circumcision - it causes a lot of scar tissue so any sexual activities not only prevents any pleasure but can actually be extremely painful. One of the reasons for female circumcision is that it prevents a woman from cheating on her husband, because due to the pain they wouldnt want sex anyway. Other myths are that the clitoris poisins the baby.
