What can a nurse do in a morgue?
I'm studying nursing, but I'm really tired of all this drama that tend to surround the hierarchical foundation of the somatic/psychiatric units. My mind leans to where it's more quiet and independent: morgue. I know that most of the answers would be from the US, but at least I'll know something about this. 1. Can having BA in Nursing qualify me to work in a morgue? 2. What education is needed for that? 3. What about the pay? 4. How many shifts are there? 5. How many people is there per shift and what are their roles? 6. Is the work there more teamwork or solo work? Thank you in advance....for real answers! /Haleo.

My cousin worked in a morgue in England on his holiday away from Australia. So anyone can apply and gain a job in the morgue. I don't know how much they get paid but Ben was able to pay for the expensive accommodation in London and still be able to eat, drink and party. So I would say a fair amount as his rent was almost $1,000 English pounds. I would guess there would only be a day shift when you get the bodies autopsied. And someone would be there at night to go get the bodies and put them in the fridge. The Forensic Pathologist is the Boss in the morgue, then you have the assistants. Some of your work would be sols. Some would be team work. I am a Nurse also and hate the political bull dust. I am now training to go into Drug and Alcohol addiction/rehab. But I would also like to work in the morgue.

What should I sing for Oldies
What should I sing for Oldies?
A select choir that I'm in does a thing every year called Oldies, where we go to nursing homes and sing. Each of us (there's 16 of us) sings a solo from between 1920-1970. I'm a mezzo-soprano belter. Here's a video of my voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbN6rrNpPfQ I have absolutely no idea where to begin, there's SO much music. Help!

A few suggestions that those oldies would be familiar with would be most ABBA songs. I'd suggest for your voice, something like Fernando, Girl with the Golden Hair or maybe Chiquitita. You could also try Bridge over troubled water by Simon and Garfunkel or maybe Aretha Franklin's Respect or Dionne Warwick's Say a little Prayer.

Violinists! Suggest some solo pieces to play for a group of about 50 people
Violinists! Suggest some solo pieces to play for a group of about 50 people?
The character in my story is a nurse, played violin for ten years as a child (5-15) and had dreams of going professional someday, but her mother dies and that decided her future career. Ten years later, her boyfriend (a fine craftsman) makes a kit violin and gives it to her. She is touched by this and decides to practice some classical melodies to entertain the members of their small community. I like Massenet's Meditation from Thais and Boccarini's Minuet, but there is no accompaniment available, and I'm not sure how nice they would be without. Please don't suggest something like Sarasate's Gypsy Airs! She's not a virtuoso! That's far beyond her technical skills. She remembers some tunes she loved well enough to be able to recapture them after a few weeks of practice. Thanks! If this isn't clear enough, please let me know and I'll ask another question, or add details. 1 MAR 08, 0457 hrs, GMT.

Massenet's Meditation would be fine .I often hear buskers play this unaccompanied and it sounds great. It is perfect for the story too. Another one to consider might be the violin transcription of Chopin's nocturne number 20 in C# minor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I4zoyEwT3s This sounds good unaccompanied as well. Also : Paganini...Cantabile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEtens6JJp8
